This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Cage, one of the most influential composers of all time. Cage’s music had a profound impact not only on post-war Western music but also on visual arts and dance. To commemorate this great artist, we, Bilkent Composition Dept. will have a special event at Bilkent. The program will include talks about Cage, readings of his writings, video projections and performances of some of his most well-known pieces.
This will surely be a unique opportunity to hear Cage’s music live and also to get a glimpse of his ideas.
