Composer Stefan Pohlit was our guest during the residency entitled The Microtonal Tuba and New Perspectives to Microtonality in Music of Our Time on the 14th & 15th of December.
During his stay, Pohlit made individual lessons with Bilkent Composition students, where he worked one-on-one with students on the pieces they brought and discussed the overall aspects of musical composition.
On the 15th, Stefan Pohlit also gave a seminar titled Composing with Limits – Harmonicist research and consciousness based on his theoretical studies, where he talked about and demonstrated the musical possibilities of the septimal tuning and limit systems, together with biblical and spiritual references and their historical backgrounds. The seminar was particularly of interest for students who were interested in broadening their views on implementing microtonality in their pieces.
Thank you Stefan Pohlit!
